Turtle Hospital

The Sea Turtle Hospital in Marathon, about 45 minutes from mile marker 0, Key West, is the most wholesome place that I have visited. This wonderful hospital rescues and rehabilitates sea turtles that are found or brought in from the wild. They rehabilitate and perform surgery on needy sea turtles, whether they are sick, had an encounter with a boat, etc. I have a special place in my heart for these beautiful sea creatures, so seeing them be loved and cared for was truly amazing! You get to hear a little bit about the different types of sea turtles they house here, ways we can do our part to save them, as well as get to take a look at the different ones that they are fostering at the moment! We saw some sea turtles with hurt fins, misshapen shells, and more, but it was truly a special experience!
